Geography, Terrain & Weather

"Bordered by five states, Madhya Pradesh spans volcanic plateaus, forested hill ranges, and sacred river systems."

Madhya Pradesh occupies a central landlocked position in the Indian peninsula. The northern plains give way to the rugged Vindhya range, while the Satpuras run parallel across the south, sandwiching the fertile rift valley of the Narmada River. The western half is dominated by the Malwa volcanic basalt plateau, offering moderate temperatures and rich black soil ideal for cotton and soybean farming.
