The ideal time to visit Telangana is from October to March, when the weather across Hyderabad, Warangal, and Adilabad is dry and pleasant (18°C–28°C). Summers (March–May) are hot, while monsoon (June–September) brings lush greenery and full waterfalls like Kuntala.

Both monuments are easily accessible within Hyderabad city. Charminar is located in the Old City, reachable via Hyderabad Metro (MGBS station) or auto-rickshaws. Golconda Fort is 11 km west of Charminar, connected by city buses and taxis.

Designated UNESCO World Heritage in 2021, the 1213 CE Kakatiya temple at Mulugu is renowned for its revolutionary floating sandbox foundation, lightweight porous bricks that float on water, and exquisite black basalt stone dancing sculptures.

Major attractions include the 13th-century Warangal Fort with its monolithic stone *Keerthi Torana* gateways, the 1163 CE Thousand Pillar Temple (Rudreswara Swamy) in Hanumakonda, and Bhadrakali Temple on Bhadrakali Lake.

Bhadrachalam is located in Bhadradri Kothagudem district along the Godavari river. It is accessible by road from Hyderabad (310 km, ~6 hours) or Vijayawada (180 km), with the nearest railway station at Kothagudem (Bhadrachalam Road).

Yadadri in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district features a newly reconstructed 14-acre black granite temple complex built around a natural hill cave sanctuary where Lord Narasimha is worshipped in five divine forms.

Nagarjuna Sagar features one of the world's largest masonry dams on the Krishna river. Visitors can take a scenic boat ferry to Nagarjunakonda island to explore 3rd-century Ikshvaku Buddhist monastic ruins and archaeological museum.

Kuntala Waterfall (45m) and Pochera Waterfall are located in Adilabad district amidst dense teak forests of the Kadam river basin, best visited right after the monsoon season (August to November).

Alampur in Jogulamba Gadwal district is home to the Jogulamba Temple (one of the 18 Shakti Peethas) and the 7th-century Badami Chalukya Navabrahma Temples located near the Tungabhadra-Krishna river confluence.

Must-try specialties include Hyderabadi Biryani, Ramzan Haleem, Irani Chai with Osmania biscuits, Sarva Pindi (savory rice pancake), Mirchi Ka Salan, Double Ka Meetha, Qubani Ka Meetha, and Telangana mutton curry (*Mamsam Kura*).

Bhoodan Pochampally in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district is world-famous for its UNESCO-recognized double-ikat handloom silk and cotton sarees. Visitors can purchase directly from weaver cooperatives in the village.

Bathukamma is Telangana's grand 9-day floral festival celebrated during Durga Navratri in September/October. Women arrange colorful seasonal flowers in concentric floral stacks, dancing around them in song before immersing them in local lakes.

Bonalu is an annual Telangana festival celebrated in July/August honoring Goddess Mahakali. Women carry decorated brass pots (*Bonam*) filled with rice, jaggery, and curd on their heads to temples across Golconda, Ujjaini Mahakali, and Old City.

Held biennially in Medaram village (Mulugu district), Sammakka Sarakka Jatara is one of the world's largest tribal congregations, drawing over 10 million devotees who offer jaggery (*Bangaram*) to honor tribal heroine deities.

Chowmahalla Palace was the official residence of the Asaf Jahi dynasty (Nizams of Hyderabad). It features four palaces, the grand Khilwat Durbar Hall, nineteen massive Belgian crystal chandeliers, and vintage royal cars.

Located on the banks of the Musi river in Hyderabad, the Salar Jung Museum houses one of the world's largest one-man collections of antiques, including the famous Veiled Rebecca marble statue and Musical Clock.

Bhongir Fort in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district is an extraordinary 10th-century monolithic egg-shaped rock fortress built 500 feet above the surrounding plain by Western Chalukya ruler Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI.

Built in 1924 by the Methodist Church, Medak Cathedral in Medak town is one of the largest Gothic churches in Asia, featuring a 175-foot tower and magnificent stained-glass windows depicting biblical scenes.

Popular sanctuaries include Kawal Tiger Reserve and Pranahita Sanctuary (Adilabad/Mancherial), Amrabad Tiger Reserve (Nagarkurnool), Manjeera Crocodile Sanctuary (Sangareddy), and Pocharam Sanctuary (Medak).

Located in Vikarabad district (75 km from Hyderabad), Ananthagiri Hills is a scenic forest hill station known as the birthplace of the Musi river, offering lush trekking trails, coffee plantations, and the ancient Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple.

Nirmal town in Nirmal district is famous for its centuries-old craft of creating lightweight wooden toys, birds, and decorative furniture painted with natural lacquer and gold leaf paint.

Pembarthi in Jangaon district is a traditional village of metal artisans renowned for fine sheet metal brass repoussé work, producing intricate temple doors, statues, and decorative vases.

Originating in Bidar and practiced widely in Hyderabad, Bidriware is an ancient metal handicraft of inlaying pure silver or gold wire into a dark blackened zinc-copper alloy base.

Telugu is the official state language. Dakhini (Deccan Urdu) and Hindi are widely spoken in Hyderabad and urban centers. English is universally used in hospitality, IT hubs, and official signage.

Hyderabad was governed by the Asaf Jahi Nizams until September 1948, when it was integrated into India via Operation Polo. It was merged into Andhra Pradesh in 1956, before Telangana achieved separate statehood on June 2, 2014.
