Refund & Cancellation Policy

Overview

At Hidden Routes, we are committed to a fair and transparent pre-order experience. Because The Hills Remember Everything is a limited-print pre-order, we have structured our refund and cancellation policy to be as flexible as possible before dispatch, while being clear about limitations after the book ships.

Cancellation & Refund Timeline

Scenario	Eligible?	Details
Cancel before May 25, 2026	✓ Full Refund	100% of the order amount refunded to the original payment method within 5–7 business days.
Cancel between May 25 and June 1, 2026	Partial	Cancellations may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Contact us immediately at editor@hiddenroutes.in. A processing fee of ₹50 may apply.
After dispatch (post June 1, 2026)	✗ Not Eligible	Once the book has been dispatched, cancellations and refunds cannot be processed.
Book arrives damaged or defective	✓ Replacement	We will arrange a free replacement copy. Please email a photograph of the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
Book not delivered within 30 days of dispatch	✓ Full Refund	If your order is confirmed lost by the courier, we will issue a full refund or send a replacement, at your choice.
Wrong item delivered	✓ Full Refund / Replacement	Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with a photograph. We will arrange a replacement or full refund.

How to Request a Cancellation or Refund

To cancel your pre-order or initiate a refund, please contact us via email with the following details:

• Your full name as entered during ordering
• The email address used for the order
• Your Razorpay payment ID (found in your payment confirmation)
• Reason for cancellation or refund request

We aim to respond to all queries within 2 business days.

Refund Process

Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method used during checkout (credit/debit card, UPI, net banking, or wallet). Refund timelines depend on your bank or payment provider:

• UPI / Wallets: 1–3 business days
• Debit Cards: 5–7 business days
• Credit Cards: 7–10 business days (may appear in next billing cycle)
• Net Banking: 5–7 business days

Razorpay may take up to 2 additional days on their end. If your refund is delayed beyond the stated timeline, please contact your bank before reaching out to us.

Non-Refundable Items

The following are not eligible for refund under any circumstances:

• Convenience fees or payment gateway charges levied by Razorpay (if any)
• Orders cancelled after the book has been dispatched (June 1, 2026 onwards), except in cases of damage, loss, or wrong delivery as described above

Exceptions & Disputes

We are a small independent publishing project and we take every order seriously. If you feel your situation is not covered by the above, please write to us — we will review each case with good faith and endeavour to find a fair resolution.

In the event of a payment dispute raised through Razorpay or your bank, we reserve the right to provide documentation of the order and this policy to the relevant parties.
